County of San Bernardino Housing Division
Rental & Home Ownership Assistance and Homeless Services The County of San Bernardino's Community Development and Housing Department's Housing, Finance, and Preservation Division (Housing Division) manages a variety of affordable housing programs. These programs are funded and regulated at the Federal, State, and local levels. The housing programs expand the supply of decent, safe, sanitary, and affordable housing for the residents of San Bernardino County.
County of San Bernardino Housing Authority
The Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino (HACSB) was organized in 1941, under the U.S. Housing Act of 1937 and the State of California Housing Authorities Law of 1938. Pursuant to said laws the Authority was authorized to function by resolution adopted by the board of supervisors on June 23, 1941. California Housing Finance Agency
For over 25 years, the California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) has supported the needs of renters and first-time homebuyers by providing financing and programs that create safe, decent, and affordable housing opportunities for individuals within specified income ranges. Established in 1975, CalHFA was chartered as the State’s affordable housing bank to make below market-rate loans through the sale of tax-exempt bonds. A completely self-supporting State agency, bonds are repaid by revenues generated through mortgage loans, not taxpayer dollars.
National Homebuyers Fund
National Homebuyers Fund (NHF), a non-profit public benefit corporation, is authorized by FHA / HUD and FannieMae to offer subordinate loan financing to qualified homebuyers in specific states. The proceeds can be used to fund all or a portion of the homebuyer’s cash to close. NHF’s objective is to create a privately funded and consistent source of down payment assistance. The organization works to complement existing state and local programs for the benefit of those families and individuals who do not have the necessary financial resources.
Housing Action Resource Trust
The Housing Action Resource Trust (HART) is a 501©(3) non-profit housing development organization established in 1995. HART's mission is to provide affordable housing and homeownership opportunities throughout the United States. HART is an established non-profit housing organization with a proven track record. The HART Program is designed to provide assistance to individuals and families who lack the necessary funds for a down payment and other related costs. The HART Program has helped thousands of renters across the country realize their dream of becoming homeowners.
