Google’s "Nominate Your Community" period ended March 26, 2010, and we appreciate all of our Rancho Cucamonga residents, business owners/employees, students, members of community organizations and other supporters who nominated Rancho Cucamonga for Google’s Fiber for Communities project.

Google has announced that it received more than 1,100 community responses and more than 194,000 responses from individuals. The company intends to release a complete list of those communities in the near future.  In the meantime, interested individuals can view the company’s map to see responses that have been received from around the country.

Over the coming months, Google will be reviewing the responses to determine where to build. As the company narrows down its choices, they'll be conducting site visits, meeting with local officials and consulting with third-party organizations. Based on a rigorous review of the data, Google will announce its target community or communities by the end of the year. Rancho Googlemonga supporters are encouraged to check this web page for updates as the process continues.  We will also be providing updates on any media coverage the Rancho Googlemonga campaign has received.

The Rancho Googlemonga Facebook Group page will continue to be available throughout the selection process as well, so supporters can continue to post comments, videos and other information related to the Google’s Fiber for Communities Project.
