Award of Merit for Development Partnership
The California Association for Local Economic Development (CALED) awarded the Rancho Cucamonga Redevelopment Agency and Lewis Homes Management Corp. with an Award of Merit for their partnership in the development of the RC Family Sports Center.

The RC Family Sports Center is a 34,000 square foot community indoor sports facility. The Sports Center is located within a portion of a former 100,000 square foot retailer whose closing had a negative economic impact on the shopping center in which it was located.

The Agency partnered with Lewis Homes Management Corp. to counter the impacts of the former tenants' closing. This project secured the lease of a second Major anchor (Orchard's Supply Hardware), increase patron visits, and economic activity for the shopping center while providing a recreational facility for the community.
